It’s not always easy

This daily Medium article sometimes feels a little bit as if my life is like a fake perfect instagram life.

The fact is it has been a good couple of weeks these past couple of weeks since I’ve started writing.

I’ve started writing for one, which feels great, and I’ve managed to keep it up every day. I also quit my awful awful job that was making me so unhappy. My business is booming. And life at home is super sweet too — my wife and I and the children all seem to have a really lovely rhythm going on at the moment. This weekend I also got back into the work on the cubby house for the first time in a year — we got the entire bottom deck screwed in. This is a good time right now.

But I have dark and hard times still now. Not often, and they don’t last long. And a big part of the reason for that is that I have the long life experience to know that it does go up and down. And I’m making a point of writing down about how life is good right now, so that when I’m in a dark time I can look at that and remember. That’s the hardest part about getting out of a depression is the feeling that it will never end, that life will never be good again.

It will get better. Life is set up to make you grow, so it is filled with challenges. It is also set up to grow with you — so that if you face those challenges, you come out bigger and stronger, and your life is also deeper and richer.

Life is challenging, but you are strong. And life is beautiful too.
Constantly more beautiful than you could have imagined.
