Microdosing is taking a drug, usually psilocybin in the form of powered magic mushrooms, regularly but in very small quantities so the effect is very mild.
That thing that Google uses to give a definition of something defines Microdosing as “the action or practice of taking or administering very small amounts of a drug in order to test or benefit from its physiological action while minimizing [sic] undesirable side effects.”
Practitioners of microdosing describe experiencing reduced anxiety and increased happiness in their daily lives.
I love the term microdosing.
When I was a kid it was just called being a drug addict.
Microdosing sounds both far more credible and far more romantic.
Don’t get me wrong; I don’t think that the old parlance was a particularly useful way of understanding the behaviour.
I think in general as a society our relationship to drugs is unhealthy primarily because of the narratives about our relationships with drugs being unhealthy, rather than any property inherent in mind altering substances.
