My first day as a professional writer

And how-to launch your own writing “career”

So, today is my first day as a legit professional writer.

I’ve been writing an article a day for the past month, and today I got my first pay cheque.

Thats USD by the way, which is 20 cents in real money at todays exchange rate!

This isn’t buy a solid gold house money, I know. But I did not imagine getting a pay out when I started. I mean, some part of me hoped for it I guess, I signed up to the Medium partner program after all.

I am not going to write an article about how to write and publish on Medium. Being a platform for writing and publishing, it is a little saturated with that kind of article.

It’s like learning to become a web developer — there are so many resources available on the internet because the one thing that everyone who put something up there knows is how to be a web developer — at least in the early days of Web 1.0, before publishing platforms that let you put stuff up there without code. That sounds like something in the very distant past, as I write it.

But I am going to recommend that you consider joining and writing, and a very quick google search reveals excellent articles on how to do it.
