Following is an email I wrote for you shortly after first discovering Steven Universe about 2 years ago.
Dear Rebecca Sugar,
As a father of 3 young daughters I want to thank you for Stephen Universe.
A few weeks ago a friend sent me a link to your show.
I checked it out and quickly found myself binge watching it.
It is so fun, but the kookiness and entertainment value is nothing compared to the beautiful world that Stephen Universe presents.
I very quickly decided to force my girls to watch Stephen Universe, in particular in place of My Little Pony; and very soon I didn’t need to force them, and we spent these school holidays binge watching it together.
The strong female characters (I know they are technically not female, but to a young girl I think it is easy to identify with them as if they are female characters) are both so very strong, and so very feminine.
They are awesome examples of women that I want my girls to see and believe in.
