Hi everybody.

It’s been a long time since my since my last post.

Especially since I’ve done a journal style post like this.

In fact it’s been four months since my “New North Star” post.

By way of follow up to that one I can say that there has been a lot of looking around at beautiful properties, and some refinement of what we are looking for in that process.

But also, the world has changed a lot this year … did ya notice?

And it seems that a lot of folk who were locked down in cities started thinking that living in the mountains and rainforest might be a lot more pleasant, and, as such, one industry which is doing very well is real-estate — at least up here in the natural rolling hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Which I understand, but this movement of city folk north has driven land prices in the same direction. That has given me a bit of an excuse to relax the pace of that search.

That, and the realisation that the home we have here right now really is so super ideal that we don’t want to give it up while the children are in school. So what we are looking for now is the parcel to own and grow on over time, but to rent out for the next decade…
